ANIMALS 1
These were taken at the San Francisco Zoo about 1973. I posted the picture for several years without knowing the species, but with a query to viewers. On March 22, 2003, Brent Huffman wrote, "I checked it out, and the San Francisco Zoo did indeed have Dendrolagus dorianus on display throughout the 1970's." Hey, thanks, Brent! ANIMALS 1
Three zebras and a fence. This was taken at one of the zoos in central California during the summer of 1973. It could have been Stockton or Fresno, or maybe another zoo I've forgotten.
I took this at the Barcelona Zoo in 1973. There were two parents in the pen to the rear, and one of them was playing or communicating with the baby. The animals were so enormous, and so gentle! (This reminds me of the way our dog plays with the cat, Leila softly wrapping her whole mouth around Elvis.)
