When we used banana flavouring, it was food flavouring and I believe the
brand name was Benjamin's and I believe it comes from Jamaica. I haven't
used it in a long time, and have none on hand. The entire key is smell -
and it has a fairly strong scent, however, not as strong as rotting bananas.
We only worked with captive tapirs, and in large, forested enclosures. I
would think that best approach would be to bait leaves nearby established
trails. Once they get the scent, and then the honey, they return for treats
repeatedly, again, it may prove to be entirely different wild vs captive
situation.
