Dear Sheryl Todd:
It is good to know the interest of your organization in
conserving tapirs. I am a wildlife biologist working on tapirs since
1993 in Costa Rica (as a master's student) and in southern Mexico. I have
published four papers on tapir ecology and I'd like to share them with
all interested people: 1. Naranjo, E.J. 1995.
Costa Rica. Vida Silvestre neotropical 4(1):32-37. 3. Naranjo, E.J. and
C. Vaughan. Observaciones sobre la ecologia del tapir en el paramo
Centroamericano. Brenesia (in press). 4. Naranjo, E.J. and E.
Cruz. Ecologia del tapir en la Sierra Madre de Chiapas. Acta Zoologica
Mexicana (in press).
I'd like to be in your mail list. Thank you.

Sincerely,
	Eduardo J. Naranjo

[intro to P.S. snipped]

I forgot to tell you about my next project: this year I will start a study on
tapir and other ungulates ecology in the lacandon forest, Chiapas (Montes
Azules Biosphere Reserve). This study will be the first part of my doctoral
dissertation, advised by Dr. Richard Bodmer from the University of Florida.
I will send you more information about this project in future communications.

Sincerely,
        Eduardo Naranjo.
