Tapir scan © 2000 Sheryl Todd

This print is in the collection of the Tapir Preservation Fund. It was a plate in a book, and unfortunately we don't have the original book. The person who sold it to us labelled it, "De Dieren Zoogdieren, Dr. L.A.J. Burgrskijk, 1864, "The Malay Tapir." The caption on the print itself says, "De Maleische Tapir." It looks like a hand-colored lithograph. The image area is about 5 inches wide by 4 inches tall.

All tapirs are endangered species.
Saving tapirs helps save the rainforest.
