Sean Culpan of Scotland sent us this picture of Henk and his mother, Asian tapirs in Artis Zoo, Amsterdam. The photo was taken in April, 1997. This is an interesting top view of Henk, showing the coat pattern from the top. Tapirs sit or lie down for nursing.



All tapirs are endangered species.
