Tapir foot photo © Charles Foerster

This picture of the underside of a Baird's tapir's rear foot was taken in Corcovado National Park as part of Charles Foerster's "Proyecto Danta" ("Baird's Tapir Project"). Charles studies tapir biology, ecology, and behavior in Costa Rica, and has collared the largest number of tapirs ever. Enlarge the picture for a better view.
