Tapir Preservation Fund:
Fundraising Projects and Goals

Donors and Projects 1997-1998

One of our early funded projects:
Ruben Nuñez' mountain tapir project

An effective and inexpensive ongoing education project in the villages of Ecuador that directly affect these animals. Read more about it here.

The kids from Colegio Nueva Granada

Early in 1997, a wonderfully concerned ninth grade biology class in Bogota, Colombia, raised $125.00 to help save mountain tapirs. The money was sent to the Tapir Preservation Fund, which passed it along to the Andean Tapir Fund. This money (read their letter, linked from the above heading) will pay most of a month's salary for Ruben Nuñez in Ecuador. More about his work to come. The project started when one of the students, looking for information for a report, found mountain tapirs in The Tapir Gallery and decided to do something to help them. A big THANKS to you, Rachel-Rose :)
