Our stuffed blue whale is a soft, gentle snuggly animal, looking for a new home. It is 21 inches from nose to tail and is blue and gray in color. It makes a fine addition to a stuffed animal collection. Please check out our other whale toys and gifts.

The blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is the largest mammal on earth and may be the largest animal. It may reach a length of 90-100 feet long and weigh over 100 tons. The blue whale is a rorqual whale, meaning that it has grooves along its throat to help suck in enormous quantities of water, in order to ingest food. A blue whale has a baleen in its mouth, a sieve, which it uses to filter plankton and krill. The blue whale was almost hunted to extinction. In1966, the International Whaling Commission curtailed all hunting and now the species is slowly recovering with about 10,000 animals in existence. The blue whale inhabits all the oceans except the Arctic but is rarely seen close to the coasts. It lives for about thirty years, has one calf a year since the gestation period is 13 months. The calf is 25 feet long at birth. This is an amazing, but endangered animal. Its main predator is man, although orcas, hunting in packs, have been known to attack young blue whales.
