This adorable stuffed African Wild Dog stands 10 inches to the top of his signature bat-like ears and measures 12 inches from nose to rump. His black and white tail with it's white tufted end adds another 5 inches. His nose, eyes, ears and tail are all securely fastened, making this a great toy for children of all ages. The African Wild Dog (Lycaon pictus) considered to be one of the most endangered species in Africa. It is estimated that there are less than 7,000 left in the wild. Despite the negative reputation they have been labeled with, wild dogs are very social and affectionate animals. The entire pack takes on the responsibility of caring for pups, even allowing the pups to eat first when they make a kill. The patchwork coloration of their short, dense fur varies widely and is unique to each animal, no two are alike, and has earned them the nick name "painted wolf of Africa".
