The jaguar lives in the rainforests of Mexico, Central and South America. An important totem animal for the Maya and Aztecs, the jaguar has captivated the human imagination right up to the present day. Beautiful and powerful, the jaguar has a remarkably majestic bearing whether lying in wait on a branch, prowling through the rainforest, drinking at a river, or, like this plastic jaguar, letting "someone" know they've come too close!
The black jaguar is a melanistic, or dark, form of jaguar. It actually has the same markings as the spotted jaguar, but they are usually hard to see unless one is close up and the light is strong, or the body is turned just right in the light exposing the underlying pattern of the fur.
Our museum-quality plastic black jaguar is caught in mid-snarl, rising from a crouch to its full height (in this case, 3 3/4 inches). Ears back, eyes wide, and tail-tip atwitch, our jaguar replica is letting you know it means business! Made of solid plastic, it is sturdy and durable. The word "jaguar" is embossed on the underside. The length of 9 inches is measured from nose to tail. It comes with an informational tag in French, Italian, Spanish, German, and English. Made by Safari, Ltd., it is striking in form and detail, and will make a great addition to your collection. It is priced right for animal collectors, school projects, dioramas, and also for use as a children's toy. Come look through our entire collection of jaguar toys and gifts.
