This charming plastic Bengal Tiger has movable head, legs and tail. Its length of 4 inches is measured not counting tail. Although it is sturdy, the pieces could possibly come loose so this toy is NOT recommended for very small children. It makes a nice addition to your tiger collection, is great for school projects, dioramas, as a toy for older kids or grown-ups, party favors, etc. To see our entire collection of action figures, check out our Animal Action Figures page. Check out our terrific selection of tiger toys and gifts.
The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the world's largest cat and the largest meat-eating land mammal. Their striped coats range in color from reddish-brown to rust-brown with a white underbelly. The stripes can be black, brown or gray. No two tigers have the same pattern of stripes. A recessive gene is the cause of the rare white or black coat color. This powerful and solitary predator once roamed widely throughout Asia. At the beginning of the last century, there were an estimated 100,000 tigers in the wild. Today, between 5,100 and 7,000 remain. Three of the eight subspecies of tiger have become extinct in the last three decades. The five remaining subspecies live in small islands of forest surrounded by a sea of humanity. Relentless poaching and habitat loss continue to threaten their existence.
