Our unusual and endearing stuffed piranha finger puppet from Folkmanis is 7 inches long from its plastic teeth to tail. Its soft, glossy body is rainbow-colored with black spots with dark gray-green fins. The finger pocket is lined with soft fabric and controls the piranha's jaw. He looks like he is ready to take a bite, but he is really fun-loving and gentle. This piranha finger puppet makes for a fun toy or fits nicely in a fish or stuffed animal collection. See our other cool stuffed fish or piranha toys and gifts.

The piranha is a general term for about 35 species of freshwater fish common in the Amazon basin of South America. It is an herbivore, swims in schools of about twenty fish and is only about 10 inches long. It is famous for its razor sharp teeth and its agressive behavior around meat or flesh. Contrary to popular belief, piranhas do not attack humans. People bathe in the Amazon among them all the time. Piranhas are an important food fish in Brazil and can be seen for sale in local markets. At this time piranhas are plentiful and are not endangered.
