Deer Ballpoint Pen
|
Made of carved and painted wood, the deer ballpoint pen is 6 7/8 inches long. It writes with a fine point and rich blue ink. This deer ballpoint pen makes for a wonderful gift, a great conversation piece or fits nicely into a deer collection. See our wonderful assortment of other animal pens or deer toys and gifts.
Our beautiful hand-carved deer pen shows off the deer's large antlers. Deer vary in size and shape. It is an incredibly diverse ruminant, found on every continent with the exception of Arctic and the Antarctic. In North America, there are numerous White-tail Deer on the western slopes of the Sierra and Cascade and Rocky Mountains and Mule Deer in the Rockies and the eastern slopes of the mountains. The male is called a buck, the female, a doe and the young, fawns. Deer are selective feeders. They are usually browsers, and feed on leaves. Rather than attempt to digest vast quantities of low-grade, fibrous food as, for example, sheep and cattle do, deer select easily digestible shoots, young leaves, fresh grasses, soft twigs, fruit, fungi, and lichens. The deer population is not necessarily adversly effected by clearcut logging. Deer thrive in open clearings where grasses and small plants grow abundantly. Likewise, deer can be a problem for farmers and, especially gardners. Of course, open areas, such as roadways, are a dangerous habitat for deer. Seeing deer is a thrill and reminds us of the wild country America used to be.
