SECURE CHECKOUT INFORMATION
We use a secure server to process all online credit card orders (see ORDERING below). When you click the CHECKOUT button in the shopping cart, you begin the secured part of the checkout process. The "http://" at the beginning of the address line will change to "https://" (the "s" stands for "Secure"). In addition, Internet Explore 6, and earlier, users will see a security lock on the right side of the status bar at the bottom of the screen; Internet Explorer 7 users will see the security lock to the right of the address field at the top of the screen. (IE 7 users may need to re-configure their internet option settings. See the Microsoft website for more information.)

ORDERING — YOUR INFORMATION IS SAFE WITH US
To order by credit or debit card: Use the "Add to Cart" buttons on the page for each item, and proceed to check-out when you're finished. Your total will be approved automatically, but it will not be processed until we send it through manually. You will have to re-enter your credit card number for each new order. With our secure server (see SECURE CHECKOUT INFORMATION above), we no longer have access to your number, and do not keep it on file for future orders. PLEASE NOTE: Phone numbers listed in the "Evening Phone" field on the Billing and Shipping Information page of the order form are NOT included in the information we receive. If you have additional contact numbers, please enter them in the "Shipping Comments" box on the Billing and Shipping Information page.HOW WE SHIP
Non-US Credit Cards: We are happy to accept your non-US credit or debit card. Scroll to the bottom of the "States" box of the order form, and indicate your REGION OF THE WORLD. This will allow your credit card to be processed. It should work for all countries. We are sorry that the bank that processes our cards has not made the form easier for international users, BUT IT DOES WORK! If your non-US address includes a State name, you will have to enter that creatively - such as listing it with your city name. PLEASE NOTE that the bank inserts a code such as 0 or AE for your region and it will appear before your City Code. We are aware of this, and will remove the bank's regional code before mailing your items.

To order using PayPal: Use the "Add to Cart" buttons on the item pages. Our software will not complete the order without a valid credit card. When you reach this stage, there are several ways to finish your order. You can copy the shopping cart page and paste it into e-mail to us, or you can e-mail the order form from the web page. (Send to tapir@tapirback.com.) We will then verify that we have everything in stock and calculate your shipping cost. We will give you the total and you can send the money by PayPal. We will then ship your order.
To order by FAX: Use "Add to Cart" buttons on the item pages, print form and fax to: (503) 325-3179. This is a U.S. phone number; it is not a dedicated FAX number, and if we're here, we may pick up the phone. When we know it's an incoming fax, we'll let it ring through. We're sorry for this inconvenience.

To order by check or money order: use the "Add to Cart" buttons on the item pages as if you were ordering by credit card. NOTE: Our software will not complete the order without a valid credit card. When you reach this stage, there are several ways to finish your order. You can copy the shopping cart page and paste it into e-mail to us, or you can e-mail it from the web page. We will then verify that we have everything in stock and calculate your shipping cost. You can mail us a check or money order in your own currency made out to the Tapir Preservation Fund.
Non-US checks are welcome - please read: There is no additional charge for foreign checks in your own currency. Just click on the currency converter linked above for the equivalent in U.S. Dollars, and write a personal check or send a money order for that amount in your own currency. This is important because our bank will process it for a very small fee which we will absorb. If a bank outside the U.S. sends us a check in U.S. dollars, a large fee will be charged to us by your bank. An exception is if your bank gets a check for you drawn on a U.S. bank such as Chase Manhattan. This will work, but it's not necessary.

If paying by check:
Israel: Our bank may require a high minimum. Please ask.
Australia: Please do not include the words "Not negotiable" or we can't cash it.
Everyone: Please be aware that if a foreign check bounces, the fee will be high - probably at least $30.00 U.S.
Items may be shipped as soon as we receive your check or money order, or we may hold them at our discretion until your check clears.
Western Union: While this payment option can be expensive for you, it is fast and safe, and we can ship immediately. It can also be useful for customers who have no checking account or credit card. If you use this method, we recommend taking cash to a Western Union office in your area. If you charge it to your credit card, you will probably be billed at the cash advance rate as well as paying other credit card fees.
We usually ship within one to three days of receiving your order. PLEASE NOTE: The shopping cart gives 2 to 3 days as the time for shipping Priority mail. This is the expected transit time. It does not include processing your order. Our normal turn-around time is fast, and there is no extra cost for quick service. We ship by US Post Office, and have found their services to be fast and reliable in the US and to most other countries.SHIPPING RATES
Typical international shipments, which take 4-10 days by air, are simple when sent via US Postal Service and, except for a $2.00 fee for boxing and handling, there are no additional fees.
US POSTAL SERVICE: We ship Priority Mail and Express Mail (Overnight or 2nd Day) in the US and Airmail for Canada, Mexico and all other non-US countries. For fast shipping outside the US by the US Postal Service, ask us about Global Priority Mail (3-5 days) or Global Express (2-3 days). Global Priority may be only a few dollars more than regular airmail, but Global Express is about double. Let us know if you want special shipping.
UPS: We have had excellent service with the US Post Office and it quick and simple to use. We avoid using UPS as there is no local office, pick-up service is unreliable, and their rates are usually double the US Postal Service Rates. However, we will use UPS at your request for a $20 additional fee for driving time and paperwork plus the cost of shipping. We recommend UPS only for overnight shipments outside the US and shipments over about 10 pounds in the US.
FedEX: We do not ship by FedEx, as we have no local FedEx office, paperwork is excessive, and local pick-up is unreliable.
Except as otherwise noted, we charge the shipping rates listed in the chart below.
There are TWO shipping options in our shopping cart. Use Priority Mail for standard shipping in the US and for all shipping to Canada and Mexico. Use the Express Mail option for Overnight or 2nd Day in the US and for all other countries except Canada and Mexico. Overnight shipments must leave our premises by 12 noon Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. If an overnight order is placed after 11:30 a.m., it must be sent 2nd Day. (If placed later in the day on Friday, it may arrive on Tuesday.) If you NEED IT OVERNIGHT outside of this time frame, it can be done, but the cost via UPS starts at about $60.00 for a small package. We are sorry - our local UPS shipping is not a cheap option! Please call us at (503) 325-3179 or (503) 338-8646. We will NOT charge these higher rates without your request and authorization.
Overseas: Since our bank's shopping cart does not offer an overseas calculation, PLEASE USE THE EXPRESS OPTION TO AUTHORIZE SPACE ON YOUR CARD and we will adjust the rate downward to the exact cost of overseas airmail plus the $2.00 boxing and handling fee. The post office fees are reasonable, and you can estimate fees yourself via the USPS Web page. (Select your country from the drop-down box and enter the estimated weight of the package.) We can also pack your order and tell you what the fee is before we ship. Just ask us. You can inquire by e-mail or place your order and add a note to the SHIPPING COMMENTS box on the order form.
We are NOT responsible for any customs duties that may be charged! Customs duties are the sole responsiblity of the customer.

RETURN POLICY
We find that 99.9% of our customers are happy with the items they receive. We do our best to provide large images and explanations that let you be sure of what you're getting before you order. In addition, we're happy to answer questions, and you'll find an e-mail link at the bottom of each page. However, if you receive a defective item, or are simply not happy with your purchase, we will refund your purchase price when you return the item. If the item is defective, we'll cover the cost of shipping. If you just don't want it, you will have to absorb the shipping and return shipping costs. Once again, if you have questions, please ask! SHIRT SIZES
As you can see from the chart below, the Child Large (CL) and the Adult Small (AS) T-shirts are the basically the same size. The only difference is the Adult Small is about 1 1/2 inches longer. The Adult Small Sweatshirt is only slightly larger than the Child Large.

COMMENTS and UPDATE LISTS
PLEASE NOTE: The "Add me to your mailing list" button in the shopping cart itself does not work. This is an outdated part of the software supplied by our credit card processing company, and they tell us they are unable to change it. We have e-mail update lists for every possible animal. If you want to be on one, let us know! You can send e-mail or use the form below. Note that the form will attach your comment to your order, and requires the credit card form to be filled out in order to be processed.
