Our plastic gorilla is 2 1/2 inches tall. He's light weight, hollow, and there's no doubt where he comes from - he's clearly "Made in China"! Looking a bit like a snow-covered version of King Kong, this gorilla has got to have a story behind it. We think it could have been inspired by "Snowflake," the white gorilla that lived for many years at the zoo in Barcelona, Spain, or perhaps the idea came from the 1945 film, "The White Gorilla," directed by H.L. Fraser. The real "Snowflake" (or "Copito de Nieve" in Spanish) came from ecuatorial Africa in 1966 and lived at the Barcelona Zoo until his death at age 40 in 2003. He had pink skin and blue eyes, whereas our gorilla does not. Whatever the legend behind our white plastic gorilla, it will make an unusual addition for your collection!

Gorillas are the largest and most powerful of the great apes. They live in equatorial Africa and are extremely endangered. There may be as few as 650 mountain gorillas and 40,000 lowland gorillas left in the world.
