Our squirrel monkey toy animal is made of solid plastic and measures 3 inches from the nose to the bend of the tail. Its name is molded into the bottom. This plastic animal toy is great for school projects, toys, novelties, animal collections, party favors and more. Our plastic monkey is for decoration or play only. You can make a superb "Monkeys of the World" shoebox diorama using this and other plastic monkeys from our gift shop. Best of all, there is no mess, no feeding, and no tank or cage cleaning :) Be sure to look over our other monkey toys and gifts.

Squirrel monkeys (Saimiri sciureus) belong to the New World monkey group which are found only in South America. They are endangered due to capture for medical research and the pet trade, illegal hunting and habitat destruction. These agile creatures are active in the daytime and are mostly arboreal, meaning they live in trees and seldom descend to the ground. With a body length of 10 to 14 inches long and weighing 1 to 3 pounds, they are the smallest member of the primate family. Their non-prehensile tail is 14 to 18 inches long with a black tuft at the tip and is used for balance when feeding and traveling.
