This engaging-looking plastic sifaka lemur replica is made of solid plastic and stands on a branch. It is 2 1/8 inches tall from the ground to the top of the branch. The color is somewhat imaginative, but has distinctive highlights. Our sifaka lemur miniature has a concerned expression but promises not to bite. The sifaka lemur is a highly endangered Old World monkey. It is found exclusively in Madagascar. Local Malagasy people named them for the unique call they send echoing through Madagascar's forests, which sounds like "shif-auk." These primates spend most of their time in the trees, but don't get around in the same way that other lemurs do. Sifakas remain upright, and they leap quickly from tree to tree by jumping with their powerful hind legs. In this way, they clear distances of over 30 feet. They can also move quickly on the ground, which they do using a two-legged sideways hop. They are dirurnal, live in small groups of about 3-10 individuals and are vegetarians.
