Our realistic-looking plastic jackrabbit is a wonderful educational toy, useful for shoebox dioramas and other school projects, a collector's item, party favor, and more. Made of solid, rubbery plastic, it measures just 1 3/4 inches tall from the bottoms of its feet to the tips of its ears. It is great for those small shoebox diorama projects, birthday cake decorations and much more. Its name is NOT moulded into the underside as it is on some lines of plastic animals. Be sure to see our other hare and rabbit toys and gifts.
There are five species of jackrabbit, all living in the central and western regions of the United States. They are typically a desert animal, hiding in the shade during the day and coming out in the evening and night to feed on plants. They are fast runners, reaching speeds of 40 miles (64 kilometers) per hour, and they can leap more than 10 feet (about 3 meters). They can live up to five years. Jackrabbits are actually hares. The white-tailed jackrabbit of California turns nearly white in winter, causing people to confuse it with the snowshoe hare. Real jackrabbits, like our plastic rabbit, have exceptionally long ears, legs, and hind feet.
