Animal Drinking Cups

THESE ARE NOT "SIPPY CUPS"! Our animal cups are an excellent alternative to sippy cups. Doctors, dentists, pediatricians, parents, grandparents and other care-givers are moving away from sippy cups due to the discovery that cavities in young children may be exacerbated by the shape of the sippy cup. Our animal cups have the regular rim of a plastic mug, but are made in small sizes for children. Each cup is 3 inches tall, 2 5/8 inches in diameter, and holds 7 1/2 oz. of liquid when filled. They are dishwasher safe and very durable. The manufacturer's test results showed that the plastic is NOT TOXIC for small children. Also, in regards to another question, the Safety Department at K&M International (the importer) tells us, "They have been tested and do not contain Bisphenol A." (Bisphenol A is a chemical sometimes found in clear, flexible plastics."

What fun! The animal forms the handle on these delightful kid's drinking cups. They are great for birthday parties, for holding crayons, or for orange juice and milk in the morning! The animals are printed on various colors of cup. Except where specified, each animal is available on one of four different cup colors: purple, turquoise, green, and magenta. We'll choose a color for you unless you select your preference when you order. NOTE: We'll do our best to match your preference. If we do not have your color-and-animal combination in stock, we'll send your animal on the color we have. If it MUST be on a certain color, please let us know in the comments box below then click the button to attach your comments to your order.

In 2006, we requested that the cup manufacturer, Mannix Trading Company (Hong Kong), supply us with additional information on the safety of the plastic in regard to toxins. They tested the cups and supplied the following information in their report.

Test Requested: For compliance with the Food and Drug Administration Regulations for determining the amount of total residual styrene monomer from polystyrene or rubber-modified polystyrene polymers.

Test Method: With reference to US FDA 21 CFR 177.640.

Mannix Trading Company found that there was less than 0.1% "total residual styrene monomer" in the plastic, whereas the FDA's limit is 1.0%. So, that's less than 1/10th of the allowable material. If you would like a fax or scan of the report, we have it on file, although there is no additional information other than the address of the testing company (SGS, Hong Kong).
