HANSA STUFFED ANIMALS

These are not your ordinary stuffed animals. Hansa animals have the charm and quality you'll want to keep for a lifetime. They are the kind of toys your child will remember for years to come. They're the kind of "pet" a young child will want to name and about which he or she will want to create their own stories. These exceptionally lifelike stuffed animals were originally available only in Europe where they have been popular for over 20 years. Each animal is hand cut and stitched. Different lengths, patterns and colors of fur along with painted faces, and sometimes feet, contribute to a high level of realistic detail. Soft filament is often used to make whiskers that seem real as well. They are so lifelike and compelling, you almost won't believe they are stuffed toys and not the real thing.

The literature says, "The magical kingdom of Hansa plush was originally created for the most exclusive European clientele. Europeans have treasured these lifelike heirloom creatures for over twenty years. . . . Each Hansa piece is a handcrafted masterpiece, lovingly designed from portraits of real animals. The 'skin' for each of these marvelous beasts is hand-cut and trimmed, never stamped out by machine. The fabric for spotted and striped animals is custom designed and specially manufactured in small lots to Hansa's exacting specifications."

The series was introduce with just nine beanie babies dubbed the "Original Nine," one of which is available in our collection. We also have at least one with PVC beans. STUFFED BEANIE ANIMALS HANDMADE IN HUNGARY

These whimsical designs are handmade in Hungary and imported through Germany by the Tapir Preservation Fund. In addition, there are only a few US vendors so they are rare in the States. Accordingly, prices tend to be in the higher range. These stuffed animal beanies are fairly heavy, stuffed with some sort of beans. Unfortunately, the photos sometimes don't adequately reveal the unique character of these wonderful creations. These photos are for reference only. We never know what colors the company will make and we can't guarantee which we'll have when you order. The colors in the drop-down lists are what we may currently have in stock.
