Patrick and Suzanna visit one of their favorite lowland tapirs (Tapirus terrestris) at South Lakes Wild Animal Park in northwestern England. What a nice surprise it was to open e-mail one day in October 2003 and find this waiting!
Patrick wrote: "We would be delighted if you put our photo on your website. My wife and I are both very interested in tapirs, their conservation and wildlife in general. Suzanna was also very interested to see that you have links on your website to tapir research that goes on around the world - she is currently writing her thesis for a PhD in Biology, and has a particular
interest in animal behaviour and animal research."
All tapirs are endangered species.
Saving tapirs helps save the rainforest.
