Stefan Schröder took this photo in the Bangkok Zoo, Thailand. As heavy as tapirs are, they are good climbers and escape artists. Jagged rocks around the moat deter such behavior. I assume they also help keep humans out!


All tapirs are endangered species.
Saving tapirs helps save the rainforest.
