1. Comparing tapir feet - two photos needed
2. Tapir sound byte request
3. Curso em Biologia da Conservao

Dear Tapir Talkers,

I've put two photos of tapir feet online as a beginning comparison of toes among the four species. You can see them here:

http://www.tapirback.com/tapirgal/mixed/pix-nat/mxn0001.htm

There is a slight difference between T. indicus and T. pinchaque in the joining of the small toe with the 3rd toe on the front feet. There is a greater difference when T. bairdii and T. terrestris are compared to these two, but I don't have good photos to show this. If anyone can help by sending digital or print images, good size, for these species taken from the same angle, or close enough to compare, please let me know. I would really appreciate it. Many thanks to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs for letting me photograph their mountain tapir, and to Heidi Frohring and Woodland Park Zoo for the photo of the Asian tapir foot.

For anyone not on the Tapir Gallery Update list, you might be interested in picture section improvements on the Tapir Gallery site:

http://www.tapirback.com/tapirgal/pictures.htm

I've also put up new photos of mountain tapirs, a partial albino Baird's tapir, and some other good stuff. You can find them from the link above.

Thanks.

Sheryl

Dear sir,

Got any Tapir soundbites? We've recently become obsessed with Tapirs and have not been able to find any audio files. Any assistance you can assist us with would be a great assistance. Thanks in advance.
