1. L.A. Zoo's mountain tapirs on TV and online
Dear Tapir Talkers,
I have news from Ayessa Rourke, mountain tapir keeper at L.A. Zoo, that
tomorrow morning, 07/25/2000, those of you in the L.A. area or who can get
KTLA Channel 5 will get to see a live remote broadcast from the zoo
featuring the baby mountain tapir born there May 6th. The feature is being
done by reporter Gayle Anderson and will be on at 7:00 a.m.
Also, the mountain tapirs at L.A. will be featured on the zoo's web site.
The feature should be up and running July 28th at www.lazoo.org
Our thanks to the L.A. Zoo and KTLA for this publicity for the tapirs!
We also have two adorable photos sent to us by Ayessa that we've put on the
Tapir Gallery with permission from the zoo. These were taken shortly after
she was born.
