A woolly mountain tapir
© Copyright about 1971 by Robert A. Wilson
This drawing clearly shows the white lips and white bands above the toes. The inch-long woolly black hair and white hair around the mouth clearly distinguish this vanishing species. They inhabit the high Andes mountains, and have not reproduced well in captivity. The drawing was done with black ink on paper.
All tapirs are endangered species.
Saving tapirs helps save the rainforest.
